Jacobs designed, built, and operates a complex of three wind tunnels and two soak rooms for Ford, brokering the unused facility time to competitors and suppliers, all while maintaining the strictest confidentiality and security. TestVIEW provides operational control of all the test facilities within this complex, using a common set of software for all of them — from wind tunnels to soak rooms — enabling cross utilization of operations personnel and integrated sharing of data and test vehicle configuration information. The test automation tools within Test SLATE and DTF have been instrumental in helping reduce Ford's overall product development cycle time.
